By the river Chebar, Ezekiel watches a storm from the north unfold into a vision of living creatures, spinning wheels, and a sapphire throne blazing with glory — a sight so overwhelming that he falls on his face. He is then raised up and commissioned: sent to a rebellious people who may refuse to listen, and appointed a watchman who must warn the wicked or bear the weight of their blood.
