The Death of Saul

Saul's last battle ends in the deaths of his sons and his own suicide, his body displayed by the Philistines until loyal men of Jabesh-Gilead reclaim it — and the Chronicler closes by declaring that Saul died for his unfaithfulness, having sought a medium instead of Yahweh, who therefore took the kingdom and gave it to David.
