Paul's Inner Struggle and Deliverance

Paul lays bare the inner war of a person enslaved to sin — wanting good yet doing evil, a law in his members warring against his mind and dragging him into captivity — then cries out in anguish asking who will deliver him from this body of death, and breaks into thanks to God through Jesus Christ, even as he acknowledges the tension remains: with his mind he serves God's law, but with his flesh he still serves sin's.
