Caleb Claims His Inheritance

The distribution of Canaan begins as Eleazar, Joshua, and the tribal leaders assign land by lot — then Caleb steps forward at Gilgal, recalls how he alone stood faithful with Moses forty-five years before, and at eighty-five declares himself still strong enough to take what was promised him; Joshua blesses him and grants him the hill country of Hebron.
