Peter's Call to Grow
In the opening of his letter, Peter greets fellow believers, declares that God has already supplied everything needed for life and godliness, then urges them to stack virtue upon virtue — faith, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, love — warning that without these qualities a believer grows blind and forgets his cleansing, but promising that those who practice them will never stumble and will receive a rich welcome into Christ's eternal Kingdom.
